Thursday, November 27 & Friday, November 28, 2025, Getaway to Rochefort “Rediscovering Pierre Loti” featuring:

  • The Pierre Loti House, the writer’s childhood home, which he transformed into a veritable palace, recreating the atmosphere of the countries he visited;

  • The Hèbre de Saint Clément Museum, with both French collections and more exotic objects, as well as part of Pierre Loti’s own collection;

  • “Le Bégonia d’Or,” a unique embroidery workshop in France; and the Naval Medical Museum

October 2025

On October 9, 2025, the Friends of Guimet took a day trip to Orléans, beginning at the Hôtel de Cabu, where the exhibition "Shadow and Grace," an artistic journey to Edo-period Japan, was being held. The participants then visited the Museum of Fine Arts, which houses rich collections of European painting.

April 2025

On April 2, 2025, the Friends of Guimet explored Nantes. They visited the Dobrée Museum, with its rich Asian collections, followed by an exclusive tour of the Arc’Antique laboratory, where the Angkor Vishnu sculpture is being restored for the “Royal Bronzes of Angkor” exhibition at the Guimet Museum. An exceptional cultural day!

March 2025

On March 27, 2025, the Friends of Guimet explored the Museum of Fine Arts in Nancy during an exclusive cultural outing. Guided tours of the Asian and Old Master collections, Japanese prints brought out of storage, and lunch on Place Stanislas punctuated this day rich in discoveries.

September 2024

On September 16, 2024, the Friends of Guimet visited the Ceramics Museum in Rouen. Guided by its director, Marie-Lise Lahaye, the participants discovered Asian pieces and the exhibition "Passion for Japan," exploring the influence of Japanese art in Europe from the 19th century to the present day.

On September 11, 2024, the Friends of Guimet are offering a cultural day in Deauville with a guided tour of the Franciscaines, three exhibitions (Capa, Hamburg, Kusama), lunch on site and a walking accompaniment from the train station.

Tuesday, April 30: A day trip to Deauville, including a visit to Les Franciscaines: Zao Wou-Ki and two exhibitions about sport, including the André Hambourg Collection – “Long live sport!” and “Sport, for the beauty of the gesture”.

March 2024

Thursday, March 29: Trip to Nantes. On the agenda: the exhibition "Genghis Khan: How the Mongols Transformed the World" at the Château des Ducs de Bretagne and the nearby Musée d'Arts, where we will be able to admire masterpieces. During these exclusive visits, we will be received by the directors of the museums involved and accompanied by the curator of the exhibition dedicated to the "Universal Mongol Emperor."

Saturday, March 2: Trip to Chambord

We will be traveling with the Friends of the Cernuschi Museum, with whom the trip was jointly organized. In Chambord, we will visit Blois in the morning and the Château de Chambord in the afternoon, accompanied by Alice Wang, daughter of the artist Wang Keping, who has kindly agreed to speak to us about her father's art, which is featured in the château's exhibition spaces.
