The Korean year begins!
To mark the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between France and South Korea in 2026, the Guimet Museum and the Friends of the Guimet Museum are dedicating a special program to Korean culture.
Three major exhibitions, a monumental installation on the museum's façade, and a series of events in the auditorium invite visitors to explore a dynamic culture whose international influence is based on a constant dialogue between ancient heritage and contemporary creation.

“K-Beauty: Korean Beauty, the Story of a Phenomenon”
Discover the evolution of Korean aesthetics from the late 18th century to the present day.
Through paintings, photographs, objects, and archival materials from the Guimet Museum and South Korean institutions, you will explore the codes of a beauty shaped by a centuries-old tradition blending harmony, naturalness, and sophistication.
Between the legacy of the Joseon Dynasty and its current global influence driven by the Korean cultural wave, the exhibition reveals how K-Beauty has established itself as a global aesthetic and cultural phenomenon.

*Silla: Gold and the Sacred
*Silla: Gold and the Sacred
Starting May 20, you can discover the treasures of the Silla Kingdom with the temporary exhibition "Silla: Gold and the Sacred."
This exhibition invites you to explore the civilization of the Silla Kingdom, which left its mark on the Korean Peninsula for nearly a thousand years.
Through a remarkable collection of artifacts, including several National Treasures presented for the first time outside of South Korea, you will be immersed in a world where beliefs, political authority, and artistic creation profoundly shaped the country's cultural identity.
Created by the Guimet National Museum of Asian Arts and the Gyeongju National Museum, the exhibition also highlights the historical significance of Gyeongju, the ancient capital whose landscapes and monuments still bear the imprint of this civilization.
